Bimbo (plural: bimbos)
Etymology In Italian it means “baby or little child”; in English it denotes “childlike thinker”. In the early 20th century, it entered the US slang for a person of either sex. It simply meant a person in a contemptuous or general sense. It gradually come to mean a woman who is physically attractive, but empty-headed. Some say, in the 1910s, it originally meant “fellow, chap” from the Italian variant of bambino—meaning “baby”—first in Italian-accented theater dialogue. Some used it to mean a “stupid, inconsequential man, contemptible person”. By 1920 the sense of “floozie” had developed, popularized by Variety staffer Jack Conway. It came to light again during 1980s when U.S. sex scandals led to derivatives including bimbette and male form—himbo. Noun

Why the ad hominem attacks?
I’m not a Jessica Lange fan, but I can see a good sense in her judgement of President Bush. Well, this isn’t a political column. So I don’t want to get into political mumbo jumbo. Anyway, there must be some people who go along with her comments—like me.
